Category: Divorce Process

In Texas, any property owned by one spouse prior to the marriage is considered separate property. Property inherited or gifted to one spouse during the marriage is also separate. This can include jewelry, vehicles, clothing, houses, etc. Separate property is not subject to division in a divorce. It will remain with the owner.
